A Commercial Real Estate Veteran Hits Her Stride at Prologis

On July 1, Megan Creecy-Herman begins her new role as Head of Operations for our West Region. She has more than 18 years of commercial real estate experience, with a focus on the acquisition, disposition, development and leasing of industrial and office assets in the southwestern U.S., and to-date has completed transactions in excess of $1 billion. Megan sat down with us to share her thoughts about Prologis’ commitment to innovating and evolving in logistics real estate.
PLD Communications Team: Let’s start with the download on your background.
Megan: I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science and received my MBA from the University of Arizona. Before joining Prologis in 2018, I spent six years at Liberty Property Trust and ten years with EJM Development Co. In 2014, I served as the first female chair of the NAIOP Arizona Board of Directors, also becoming the youngest in the nation to lead a large chapter. I was humbled to receive the NAIOP National Chairman of the Year award in 2015. In 2015, I joined the NAIOP National Executive Committee and the National Board of Directors and am still a member of the National Board of Directors today.
PLD Communications Team: As of this writing, you are in the process of moving into a new role as senior vice president and head of Prologis’ West Region operations. Congratulations! Please fill us in.
Megan: Yes, I am really looking forward to starting my new position as part of Prologis’ senior leadership team. Having spent my entire career in the commercial real estate industry, I have never found another company that is as forward-thinking as Prologis. I love having the opportunity to be part of the best team in the commercial real estate industry while knowing that we are always thinking about what comes next. As Prologis pursues its commitment to innovation, we will continue to differentiate ourselves in the sector and beyond.
PLD Communications Team: In its 2019 Annual Report, Prologis announced its 3Cs—a refinement of its focus going forward. The 3Cs stand for Customer Centricity, Change Through Innovation, and Culture. How does your role connect into these important touchpoints?
Megan: As I move into my new role as a senior leader of the West Region, the 3Cs will be central to my leadership priorities. The 3Cs must be top of mind for all of our people and act as recurring themes in our daily decision-making.
PLD Communications Team: How does Prologis encourage employees to drive change?
Megan: I see this in action every day. Prologis is always looking for new ways to move the commercial real estate sector forward across the globe, and our people are the starting point for making that happen. People here are given the tools they need to find the best solutions, and there is a clearly stated mindset that solutions can come from anywhere—so be open to hearing others’ ideas and processes.
PLD Communications Team: How do you balance work and life?
Megan: I enjoy meditation, yoga and spending as much time as I can with my family. We have a 4-year-old son who loves to spend time outdoors and keeps us very active.
