Utrecht, located on the banks of the river Rhine, is an important trade center in the very heart of the Netherlands. Due to its central position within the country, it is a vital transport hub for both rail and road, well connected to Amsterdam, Arnhem, The Hague and Maastricht, as well as Belgium and Germany.

The fourth-largest city in the Netherlands, Utrecht has an urban population of about 343,000, and the city continues to grow. Utrecht was the most important city in the Netherlands until the Dutch Golden Age, when it was surpassed by Amsterdam as the country's cultural center and most populous city. The province of Utrecht, the smallest in terms of area, has a population of almost 1.3 million.

Utrecht’s economy is supported by key industries, such as transport and logistics, banking and technology. Utrecht is home to ProRail, the government agency of the national railway network infrastructure; Rabobank, a world leader in food and agriculture financing; and the global technology giant Oracle.

Prologis operates industrial properties and warehouses in the Utrecht area.
