Staying Ahead of What's Next
From the beginning, the goal was to understand the pain points facing Prologis and our customers before they became obvious, then invest in companies building practical solutions. We wanted to see where logistics technology was headed by staying close to the companies operating at the edge of change.
A decade later, Prologis Ventures has invested in more than 50 companies and deployed more than $300 million across the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America. The portfolio spans digital freight, flexible warehousing, automation, workforce solutions, supply chain visibility, energy and data. Today, approximately 70% of Prologis Ventures portfolio companies support Prologis customers, while roughly 30% strengthen our own operations. These outcomes reflect our investment philosophy: staying ahead of industry change, backing transformative technologies early and helping scale innovations that deliver lasting value for Prologis and our customers.
Investing Behind Structural Change
Our investments have followed the same path our customers did. Early on, the focus was flexibility—helping companies move freight more efficiently and access warehouse capacity on demand. That led us to companies such as Flexe, which created a more flexible model for warehousing capacity, and Flexport, which brought a more transparent and digital approach to global freight. We made investments that gave us solutions that responded to the real operating problems our customers were already beginning to face.
