Prologis was founded in San Francisco in 1983 and has been headquartered in the city for the past 40 years. We build, own and operate logistics real estate through all points of the supply chain and deliver solutions and services at scale so our customers can focus on growing their businesses. Nearly 1.1 million people work under a Prologis roof each day. With the largest global portfolio of logistics real estate comes the responsibility to approach every property and parcel of land as both a local and global citizen. We are a committed leader in moving the industry to a more efficient and sustainable future with investments in energy, sustainability, mobility and workforce training programs. Our network of buildings provides space for businesses of all shapes and sizes to operate and grow.

Goals and Progress

When we decide to take on a challenge, we set ambitious goals. That’s why we’ve committed to achieving net-zero emissions in our operations by 2030 and across our value chain by 2040.

All of our buildings developed since 2013 have LEED green building certifications, and our design standards now require every building to have greenhouse gas lifecycle assessments (LCAs), solar-ready rooftops and EV-charging-ready infrastructure.

Our buildings have 405 megawatts of onsite solar generation capacity, enough to power more than 65,000 U.S. homes annually. We are the second-largest generator of onsite solar, and our goal is to achieve 1 gigawatt of installed solar capacity, supported by storage, by 2025.

In 2022, we activated two truck charging installations that, together, can charge 38 Volvo VNR Electric Class 8 battery-electric trucks simultaneously. We’ve committed to make every eligible new development EV-charging ready for passenger vehicles and fleets.

We provided logistics workforce training to over 10,119 people in 2022—bringing the total to approximately 21,000 toward our goal to train 25,000 people by 2025.

All of our buildings are being retrofitted with LED lighting, which requires less energy than traditional lighting systems and contains no toxic materials. Over 71% of our portfolio has already been converted.

Our properties have drought-resistant landscaping that minimizes irrigation and reduces water usage.
