Embracing Change and Growing a Career
In her work as senior vice president of Customer Led Innovation, Liz Dunn services and grows several of Prologis’ most strategic customer accounts. She also focuses on customer-centric innovation. For example, she says that many customers cite labor as their biggest pain point. Liz then turns that around and creates solutions to their labor problems. This includes working with customers to tailor curriculum for Prologis’ Community Workforce Initiative (CWI).
Liz grew up on the East Coast in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tri-state area. She attended Georgetown University for her undergraduate work, majoring in finance with a minor in sociology. She lived in New York and worked for the Related Capital Company for five years doing real estate finance. She then earned her MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. For her MBA, she majored in finance and real estate.
When asked what she believes she can do in her role, Liz says, “Every day, I try to make a difference for our customers and our peers and add shareholder value.” She adds: “If we listen to our customers and innovate on their behalf to eliminate pain points, we can drive superior customer service.”
Liz is not new to the real estate industry or to Prologis. In fact, she started her career as an intern for Prologis in 2010 while in her graduate program. During her internship, she was in the Strategic Capital group, which at the time was led by now chief operating officer Gary Anderson out of the Denver office.
Liz then joined Prologis as a full-time employee in July 2011. Since then, she has worn many hats. She started working with the finance function, performing financial planning and analysis at our Denver office. Then, following that position, she moved to the Bay Area in 2013 to work in the office of the Chief Investment Officer. She also worked in Investor Relations for four years. In January 2019, she became vice president of Global Customer Solutions, and in February 2020, she was promoted to Senior Vice President, Customer Led Innovation.
Liz says the primary themes throughout her career have centered on real estate and finance. But, as she explains, “saying ‘yes’ and being open to different opportunities” has also been significant to her career trajectory.
Having been with Prologis for more than eight years, Liz says she stays “for the people—the people at Prologis are smart, driven, motivated, and they show kindness—and while I work hard, I also have a lot of fun.”
