Over the past two decades, rapid economic and industrial growth has transformed Kunshan from a poor agricultural region into a wealthy component of the Shanghai metroplex. Kunshan is often referred to as the “tenth district of Shanghai.” Established formally as a city in 1989, the Kunshan metropolitan area has a population of about 2.4 million.

Kunshan plays an important role in the region’s logistics and distribution industries. A center for manufacturing of high-technology products, such as computers and digital cameras, Kunshan sits astride three important land-based transportation lines: the Beijing-Nanjing-Shanghai Railway, G312 national highway and Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway. The region’s many canals and rivers allow cargo transport by water from warehouses to the Port of Shanghai, 40 miles away.

Prologis has available warehouses in Kunshan and operates industrial warehouse properties throughout the Kunshan area.
