Prologis Japan and Nippon Prologis REIT, Inc. received the prestigious Logistics Environmental Enlightenment Award in the 19th Logistics Environment Awards sponsored by the Japan Association for Logistics and Transport, which was established in 1991 to support development of the Japanese logistics industry. The Association comprises companies and associations that conduct business across the spectrum of Japanese logistics. It focuses on a variety of initiatives, including recommendations for government policies that may potentially affect the logistics industry as a whole.
Every year, the Association honors companies for their contributions to sustainability, preservation and reduced environmental impacts. The Japan team was recognized for their initiatives in sustainable development, both new construction and renovation of existing facilities. Prologis focuses on environmental stewardship and delivering sustainability benefits to its customers and communities. Sustainable warehouses cost less to operate, which saves money for customers and generates value for investors. To that end, Prologis develops new facilities to global sustainability standards and upgrades existing buildings with efficient lighting, cool roofs and low-water solutions.
