World’s Longest-Range Zero-Emissions Electric Bus Unveiled at Facility Opening

Industry, CA - Heavy hitters, including California’s Governor Jerry Brown and Pedro Pizarro, President and CEO of Edison International, attended the opening celebration for leading electric bus manufacturer Proterra’s newest facility in Industry, California. The opening celebration was timed to coincide with delivery of their first California-made bus.

Attendees got a firsthand look at how electric buses, which can travel 350 miles on a single charge, are built.  “Today, we’re not celebrating a factory; we’re celebrating the first commercial delivery of the longest-range EV technology in the world,” said Proterra President and CEO Ryan Popple.  “Our buses will enable riders a state-of-the-art electric experience, and they’ll be able to enjoy the health and other benefits associated with zero-emission technology.”  Mr. Popple, an early employee of Tesla Motors, is leading the initiative at Proterra to popularize zero-emission buses in the U.S.
