Prologis Showcases ESG Initiatives at Sustainability in Logistics Real Estate Event
On November 6, 2018, Prologis held Sustainability in Logistics Real Estate, an investor event, at The National in New York City. The agenda included a discussion on Prologis’ sustainability initiatives and how environmental, social and governance (ESG) programs drive value for our customers, investors and communities.
Jeannie Renne-Malone, VP, Prologis ESG, made the case for sustainable business strategy and presented Prologis’ highly regarded ESG initiatives and accomplishments. Angeli Stirbei, VP, Client Relations, outlined Prologis’ inclusion and diversity (I&D) practices and goals. According to Stirbei, “I&D is important to our investors and the momentum is building rapidly. There’s commitment and understanding that the best talent today expects inclusive, diverse workplaces.” She gave the example of a growing body of research linking increased diversity with improved long-term financial results.
Many attendees regard Prologis as a corporate role model for how to advance ESG strategies, such as the newly launched Community Workforce Initiative and being the first logistics REIT to set a Science Based Target. Participants asked thoughtful questions, and several asked for advice about how to maximize the success of their investment managers and portfolios. “Prologis is clearly way ahead of the competition on both fronts,” said one investor at the event. Said another, “These types of events are particularly valuable, especially regarding I&D. I like when Prologis helps me stay informed of new and upcoming trends.”
