Female members of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) who are active in the organization are encouraged to apply for a 2018 Women's Leadership Initiative scholarship to attend the 2018 ULI Fall Meeting. This year's event is in Boston on October 8-11, 2018. The application deadline is June 29. Scholarships are awarded in recognition of a member’s contributions to ULI and demonstrated commitment to real estate and land use issues.
Applicants must have at least seven years in the real estate or land use industry and have demonstrated leadership within their district council or on a national or global level. Further selection criteria include a member’s ability to articulate the benefits of Women's Leadership Initiative involvement and Fall Meeting attendance.
Since 2015, Prologis, in conjunction with the ULI Women’s Leadership Initiative, has awarded scholarships to women members to participate in the Fall Meeting. The purpose of the program is to support the professional development of female ULI members and raise the visibility and number of women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry.
The scholarship includes complimentary registration to the ULI 2018 Fall Meeting, as well as reimbursement for approved out-of-pocket expenses for transportation and lodging, up to $2,000. Scholarship winners will be assigned a mentor who is an active member of the Women’s Leadership Initiative. The mentor will host the recipient at her product council and make introductions to her network at all Women’s Leadership Initiative-branded events.
The Women’s Leadership Initiative, formed in late 2010, has increased the visibility of women in the real estate profession through speaking engagements and publication opportunities, programming for the spring and fall meetings, networking events, endorsing women for ULI leadership positions, collaborating with district councils and member companies, educational studies and materials on women in leadership, and other activities. The scholarship program advances the mission of the Women’s Leadership Initiative: to raise the visibility and number of women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry.
