The Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) survey results are out, and once again, Prologis earned a clean sweep of Green Stars, the highest level of distinction for outstanding performance in environmental stewardship, social responsibility and governance (ESG).

GRESB assessed 850 property companies, REITs, funds and developers that jointly comprise  more than $3.7 trillion in assets under management worldwide. Assessment participants are benchmarked against their peers.

Prologis participated in ten GRESB surveys, one each for: Prologis, FIBRA Prologis, Nippon Prologis REIT (NPR), four European funds and three U.S. funds. All ten earned Green Stars. This is the first submittal for FIBRA Prologis, which claimed second place plus a Green Star in the North America Industrial sector out of 12 peers.

In addition, Prologis earned three sector leader spots:

  • Regional Sector Leader for industrial real estate in North America
  • Regional Sector Leader status for industrial real estate in Asia for Nippon Prologis REIT (NPR)
  • Health and Wellbeing North America Industrial Sector Leader

Plus, all three of our listed companies (Prologis, FIBRA Prologis and NPR) earned an ‘A’ in Public Disclosure on a scale of A-F. This is a new measurement introduced in 2017. All three U.S. funds are ranked in the top five in the U.S. and three of four European funds are in Europe’s top four.

GRESB provides systematic assessment, objective scoring and peer benchmarking of real asset investments around the world. GRESB’s unique data on ESG performance of property companies and funds allows investors to better manage ESG risks and enhance returns.

The 2017 GRESB results are available here.

“We are proud to recognize the 2017 sector leaders for their clear commitment and meaningful action to improve their sustainability performance. One of the things that really stood out this year is how investor interest, backed up with accurate performance benchmarking, is empowering the spread of sustainable best practices across the market globally,” said Sander Paul van Tongeren, Co-Founder and Managing Director at GRESB.
