The Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), known for rigorous assessment of the sustainability performance of real estate companies and funds worldwide, has released its 2018 results. Once again, Prologis earned a clean sweep of Green Stars across all eight Prologis participants, many of which were in the top ten out of 61 peers in the global industrial group.  A green star is the highest level of achievement in recognition of outstanding performance in environmental stewardship, social responsibility and governance (ESG).   Prologis participated in eight GRESB surveys, one each for Prologis, Nippon Prologis REIT, FIBRA Prologis, Prologis European Logistics Fund, Prologis European Logistics Partners, Prologis UK Logistics Venture, Prologis Targeted U.S. Logistics Fund and Prologis U.S. Logistics Venture.

FIBRA Prologis achieved North America industrial sector leader status. Two other Prologis entities, Nippon Prologis REIT and UK Logistics Venture, earned country leader status for the industrial sector in Japan and the UK, respectively.

In addition to the eight Green Stars and regional and country leadership rankings, Prologis earned first place in two pilot modules that were not included in the main scores, including first place in Health and Well-being in the Globally diversified sector, and first place in Resilience, amongst all 114 GRESB participants.

GRESB is the gold standard for ESG benchmarking and reporting for listed property companies, private property funds, developers and investors that invest directly in real estate. It provides systematic assessment, objective scoring and peer benchmarking, and its unique data on ESG performance allows investors to better manage risks and enhance returns.

The assessment contains approximately 50 indicators, including energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption and waste. In 2018, GRESB assessed 903 real estate companies and funds worldwide.

“The sustainability team worked tirelessly, collaborating with many departments around the world to collect and submit robust, transparent ESG information,” said Jeannie Renné-Malone, vice president, sustainability. “Earning this kind of recognition is a testament to Prologis’ strength and industry leadership.”
