Building on the success of the original Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT), as with all warehouses developed since 2008, Prologis designed Prologis RFI DIRFT DC2 with sustainability in mind. At almost 420,000 SF (40,000 SQM), this warehouse achieved BREEAM “Excellent” accreditation. Due to increasing fuel costs, growing road congestion and the relative environmental impacts of road versus rail, the viability of rail freight is becoming an increasingly important component of regional logistics operations. The facility includes a 350-meter-long canopied rail siding along the rear of the unit.
