Prologis Park Pineham DC4, a 460,000 SF (42,000 SQM) distribution center near Northampton, UK, demonstrates Prologis’ commitment to innovative sustainable development and environmental stewardship. The design of Prologis Park Pineham DC4 includes sustainable features that decrease reliance on artificial lighting, which is the biggest consumer of energy in a distribution center. Skylights make up 15 percent of the building’s roof. Photocells ensure that the high-efficiency lighting system is activated only when necessary, minimizing energy costs. The building’s energy-efficient design contributed toward its BREEAM “Excellent” accreditation and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) “A” rating. The building was subsequently extended by 150,000 SF.
