Set on the River Leine, Hannover is the capital of the German state of Lower Saxony. With a population of about 540,000 people and within 100 miles of the vital North Sea ports of Bremen and Hamburg, Hannover is an important logistics hub for Germany.

Hannover has a diversified economy that is broadly representative of the German economy at large. It is home to operations for automakers and insurance companies. In recent years, the automotive industry—anchored by Volkswagen, which has 16,000 employees in the Hannover region—and e-commerce have driven demand for industrial properties and warehouses.

Hannover is a center for trade fairs. The Hannover Messe has evolved into the largest exhibition of capital goods in the world, and five of the world’s biggest industrial trade exhibitions take place in Hannover, including CeBIT, the world’s biggest fair for the fields of communication, information and telecommunications.

Prologis operates industrial properties and warehouses in the Hannover region.
