Community engagement

Prologis supports hundreds of community activities and social causes in its areas of operation. In 2010, Prologis colleagues donated over 5,300 hours and more than $1.4 million in cash and in-kind donations to charities and organizations in need. About 40% of this came from the Prologis Foundation, which was formed in 2001 to support educational and charitable organizations.

In 2010 community engagement activities included environmental cleanup activities in Japan and France, building homes for those in need in the United States and Mexico, revitalizing a community center in San Francisco, and donating distribution center space to the Salvation Army in Miami to aid in relief efforts following the earthquake in Haiti.

In addition to donating time and money, Prologis provides full-time employees four paid days off each year to volunteer in their communities: two days for company-sponsored events and two days for charitable activities of choice that align with our company’s and our colleagues’ personal values.
