ProLogis is a leading global provider of distribution facilities, with more than 475 million square feet (44 million square meters) of industrial space in markets all across North America, Europe and Asia.
ProLogis Parc Ichikawa #1, a five-story, 1.3-million-square-foot (125,200-square-meter) facility near Tokyo, completed in 2009, received a CASBEE Class A certification for sustainable design. CASBEE is the most commonly used green building rating system in Japan, and Class A is the second highest certification level possible within the CASBEE system.
Recently, however, it was discovered that the energy savings component of the CASBEE assessment score was lower than the actual features of the facility. After careful, lengthy analysis, ProLogis Parc Ichikawa I’s CASBEE status was revised to Class S, the highest possible ranking under the CASBEE system.
This is the second ProLogis distribution facility in Japan to receive this high distinction. ProLogis Parc Zama I is also certified CASBEE Class S.
