Prologis supports hundreds of community activities and social causes in its areas of operation. In 2013, Prologis donated more than $1.3 million in cash and in-kind donations to charities and organizations in need. Over 43 percent of this came from the Prologis Foundation, which was formed in 2001 to support educational and charitable organizations. The Prologis Foundation does not accept unsolicited requests for grants.
Community engagement activities in 2013 included environmental cleanup activities in Japan, volunteering at food banks throughout the United States and bike and foot races in China, Europe and the U.S. to support various charitable causes.
In addition to donating time and money, Prologis provides full-time employees three paid days off each year to volunteer in their communities: two days for company-sponsored events and one day for charitable activities of choice that align with our company’s and our colleagues’ personal values.
On 17 May 2014, Prologis engaged in its second annual IMPACT Day, a round-the-clock global community engagement endeavor supporting 55 organizations relating to education, human welfare and the environment. IMPACT Day emphasizes the company’s core values of Integrity, Mentorship, Passion, Accountability, Courage, and Teamwork.
Activities ranged from environmental cleanup efforts in the United States to student mentorship in Europe to supporting road safety programs in Asia. Volunteer efforts began in Tokyo and proceeded across 53 cities in Asia, Europe and the United States, concluding in San Francisco.
