World Headquarters

On February 16, 2006, ProLogis opened its new global headquarters in Denver, Colorado. The five-story, 89,000-square-foot facility has been nationally recognized for its extensive use of environmental design features.

The U.S. Green Building Council, a building industry nonprofit group that promotes sustainable development, designated the ProLogis headquarters as a “LEED-certified” building. LEED stands for “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” and has become the U.S. national standard for environmentally responsible construction.

In recognizing the facility, the Council cited the project’s wide array of environmental design features, including:

  • A site plan that reduces storm water runoff, building heat absorption and overall ecological impact;
  • Heavy use of local and regional construction materials;
  • Extensive recycling of construction waste;
  • Energy-efficient lighting systems and light harvesting;
  • State-of-the-art HVAC;
  • High-performance glass that reduces energy consumption while allowing for a high degree of light transmittance;
  • Water-efficient landscaping and irrigation recycling;
  • On-site showers and locker facilities that promote biking to work;
  • Charging stations for electric vehicles;
  • Construction and design techniques that enhance indoor air quality for employees.

“ProLogis is an example of a company that is walking the talk; it is to be commended for achieving LEED certification. LEED certification is a high standard that will deliver what is promised: an environmentally friendly, safe, and healthy environment for ProLogis employees, as well as for the community at large.”
