Sustainable Development

As the leading global provider of distribution facilities, Prologis naturally focuses on environmental stewardship as a key component of its corporate responsibility. We adhere to strict design standards and build our facilities to minimize environmental impact and maximize energy efficiency.

Prologis is committed to implementing best practices in sustainable design and construction on its new developments globally. We typically register our development projects with the intent to seek certification in accordance with recognized standards. These standards include the following:

  • U.S. Green Building Council’s standards for LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) in the United States and elsewhere
  • Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) in the United Kingdom and Europe
  • Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency (CASBEE) in Japan
  • Other country-specific standards as appropriate

In countries where no green building rating system exists, we utilize a global standards checklist based on the leading internationally-recognized rating systems.
