ProLogis has supported hundreds of community activities and social causes in its areas of operation. In 2009, ProLogis and its employees donated over 4,500 hours and more than $1 million to charities and organizations in need. About half of this money came from the ProLogis Foundation, which was formed in 2001 to support educational and charitable organizations.
In 2009 community engagement activities included supporting youth sports programs in Mexico and Poland, maintaining an outdoor adventure center for disadvantaged and disabled youth in the United Kingdom, hosting a community tree planting event in Japan, and donating space to Toys for Tots – an organization providing holiday joy to kids in need – throughout the United States.
In addition to donating time and money, ProLogis provides full-time employees two paid days off each year to volunteer in their communities in ways that align with their values.
